Shane Wright

Pastor

Shane is married to Peta and they have four kids. Prior to full-time ministry Shane worked in the construction industry, managing a building company on the Sunshine Coast. Shane and Peta both grew up on the Sunshine Coast and have deep affection for the area and the people. Shane is a graduate of Queensland Theological College and has been serving at Maroochydore Presbyterian Church after completing his candidacy for ministry.

Elders

Noel Atkinson – Elder

Noel previously worked as a Production Manager. He served as an elder for 20 years in the Mackay, and has served since 2012 at MP. With a heart for people new to church, Noel is regularly seen welcoming people at our MP 1045 service. Noel is married to Kathy and leads a weekly growth group.

David Betts – Elder

David is a former Police Officer retiring on the rank of Inspector. He has been an elder for over 30 years and has actively served in the local church, the regional Presbytery, and in the State Assembly. He is also the secretary of MP’s Committee of Management. David is married to Lyn and attends the MP 9am service.

John Chate –Elder

John works for the Queensland State Government Rescue Helicopter. He has been an elder for the past 12 years in Townsville and now at MP. He leads a weekly growth group, preaches occasionally, and has been involved in Sunday School Teaching.

David Ellaby – Elder

David is married to Joanne and loves to minister in pastoral settings. He is a Critical Care Paramedic and has studied in Theology. His ministries include growth group leading, church worship leading, occasional preaching, and pastoral care. He joined the Eldership in 2018 after 12 years eldership in previous churches.

Greg Thomas – Elder

Greg was a self-employed builder for 45 years, and is constantly helping around the church in all sorts of ways. He has been an elder in 3 Presbyterian Churches for the past 30 years. He has been involved in youth ministry, men’s ministry and the regular leading of growth groups.
